K Series Engines

Installation notes for users with K series engines.

Introduction

The K series engines unlike earlier types have only one coolant temperature sensor, which is used by the ECU. The stock gauge clusters used in these cars receive the coolant temperature (and more) from the ECU across a data bus, so there is no need for a dedicated sensor for the temperature gauge.

When installing a converted S2000 cluster, it is necessary to wire the coolant temperature input on the S2000 cluster to the CTS sensor input on the ECU. You must specify when ordering your cluster conversion that you are running a K series engine, so I can make the appropriate changes.

A typical example of how to hook up the S2000 cluster to the CTS input will be posted shortly.
